Taking A Stand

I've often talked about how my most of my internship experience has been plagued by questions on how certain experiments and equipment functions and what their purposes are. Typically, me and my lab partner Andres share the same questions, so whenever one of our coworkers demonstrates something we always tend to ask a few questions each. In this way I've advocated for myself by attempting to understand my new surroundings through questions. Apart from advocating for my understanding or lack thereof I haven't had to speak up for anything else I've felt. On my site visit with my humanities teacher, Max, I mentioned how I never faced any conflict in my workplace other than my own efforts to gain knowledge, the environment is comfortable and was surprisingly easy to adapt to. The lab consists of a handful of people which makes it easy to get to know everyone and for them to easily remember me, but each member and I have also engaged in small talk, our interests, hobbies, school, etc. which has made it a lot more enjoyable to participate in the lab and has brought us a bit closer.
