Reading and Raining

Since I had previously visited the Kauffman lab last semester for a class field trip, I had few questions surrounding the type of things they researched but I had many questions on how each experiment and procedure worked and what its purpose was. In order to answer these questions and get a better understanding of Kisspeptin1 I have been reading multiple scientific journals and textbook chapters. Overall, the first week has been a mix of tiredness and excitement. I wake up around 6:30 a.m. to and my aunt drives me to a friend's house where her and me drive through hour-long traffic to UCSD, but I it is completely worth it in order to see and learn new things at the laboratory such as learning how to run a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) to collect organs from mice. I am seeing so much each day and I enjoy every part of it.
